KAREN BLESIUS RHODES, LCSW

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCS27384) who has worked over 20 years in behavioral health. I graduated from San Francisco State University with a Masters of Social Work (specializing in Individual, Family and Groups). I provide clinical supervision to ASW's and MFT's as well as have a private psychotherapy practice in San Carlos, CA.

My clinical experience has included working with individuals and families who are dealing with a variety of mental health issues, including severe mental health disorders (e.g., schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder) as well as people dealing with other significant issues (e.g., depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, grief and loss).

I have worked in locked psychiatric hospitals, community-based mental health board and care homes, community outpatient clinics, temporary and LPS conservatorship, and a mental health court program. Currently I work part-time doing individual and couples counseling.

I have completed the 15 hour supervision course required by the BBS to be able to provide clinical supervision. For those that work for a non-profit and charitable organization, a school ,university or government agency I am able to do Skype supervision per the BBS.

Sessions often include but are not limited to:

Feedback and guidance on counseling techniques, interventions, ethical and legal issues, and more
Review of case notes and documentation as needed
DSM-V diagnoses and criteria for diagnosing
BBS licensure exam preparation
