To me, direct social work practice is incredibly fulfilling in both being able to work with clients directly and indirectly through clinical supervision. Common elements that I bring to both my clients and supervision is a relational style meaning the most important piece of work together is the relationship we have together .. one that is collaborative, supportive, and is attuned to your clinical and developmental needs.
I am a mindfulness-based practitioner and supervisor which means my own personal mindfulness practice enables me to be fully present with you, without judgment, and is focused on what you may need from me ... whether that be empathetic listening, nudging you in challenging directions, sharing resources and suggestions for clinical trainings, and ensuring you are following the 'rules' put forth by the new council so we put best efforts forward in meeting their requirements.
Attachment and polyvagal theories inform so much of my work with clients and supervisees as well as therapy models such as ACT, IFS, and IPBN. If clients or supervisees are open I explore nutritionally-based interventions that are specific to improving mental health. Additionally, I have certifications in Integrative Medicine for Mental Health and Kundalini Yoga and am open to bringing in one, any, or all of these modalities.
