Clinical Social Work-Therapist
I have over 30 years of experience as a psychotherapist and am as excited and passionate now as the day I started. I focus on working in depth with those that have experienced trauma, sexual abuse, and eating/food issues. I believe most individuals come for counseling /psychotherapy to make changes but do not know how. I see my responsibility is to give guidance and tools to help facilitate that change.
My approach is based on body-centered gestalt therapy. Body-centered therapy focuses not just on the mind, but the whole body. It is about changing your perspective of yourself and the world. It helps you look into your past so that you can see how it affects your present and move onto the future.
Often I will ask, "How do you feel about that?" "Take a breath, where do you feel it?" "What does that feel like?". These questions help us dive deep within our bodies to find the feeling within.
